Argonauts Stand in Fourth at Regionals; Galloway Tied for First

first_img May 8, 2007MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. – After an impressive regular season and a Gulf South Conference championship, West Florida struggled in the first round of the NCAA Division II South Region Tournament on Monday. West Florida shot a nine-over 297 to stand in fourth place after the first day of competition. The event is being held at the Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course.Host school North Alabama has the early lead after shooting a first round, two-over 290. Florida Southern is two strokes back at four over, while Barry is in third place after a first round eight-over.Matthew Galloway (Valrico, Fla.) is one of three golfers tied for the lead. Galloway shot a one-under 71 on Monday to tie for the first round lead with Barry’s Hernan Borja and North Alabama’s Jonathan Henderson. Leonardo Di Marino (Laferrere, Argentina) is also in the top 10 after shooting a one-over 73.Also for West Florida, David Lingmerth (Tranas, Sweden) is tied for 17th after a three-over 75.
